Nice piece i am always more fond of the realistic DnD pieces then the overtly magical ones you can guess how my games go.

Yep, this is my taste too.
I always loved the subtgle and not overtoned art of the first editions: b/w lineart, dramatically shaded.
Characters carrying realistic weapons and wearing actual armor instead of bikini chainmails, spiked plates and wielding horse-sized swords.

Not bad. I'm guessing a low-level cleric.

Is this commissioned work or something for one of your own games or characters?

Yep, relatively low-level (6th level so far, playing D&D B/X).
This not commissioned, I'm not open to commissions. This is for one of my friends, fellow gamer, for a campaign we're playing right now :)

I'm currently playing a 3rd level Fighter in the same edition of D&D. So much simpler than the later versions.

Quite difficult to find well-crafted images on deviantart to represent an overweight (short but otherwise bear-like) human warrior, by the way. I've had a lot of trouble doing so.
